Camalo lake is a lovely venue with great facilities and with a good future.
Fishing was tough going due to fish spawning the week before and the Saturday morning of the start of the trip. Biggest fell to me in the VIP swim at 47lb. Swim 1 had a flow of fish later in the week from 10lb to low 40’s.
My friend and his son in swim 3 didn’t have much luck with any big fish. 17 fish in low single weight, then 6 above 10lb to 24lb. Not really what they went for, but the fish have to start somewhere. Probably best progressed to better weights in a stock pond.
Swim 3 is extremely shallow, swim 1 has the better depths and seems more productive. Regulars were in swim 1 and highlighted this too.
The Donkey is very friendly. Done a great job of fencing out the horses and donkey so can’t roam around any swims or main track.
