This was my second visit to Lac Baronne, having first fished the lake in September 2024, and I honestly can’t believe how much work has been done since then.
Rafal has put a huge amount of effort into improving the venue, making the swims far more accessible and comfortable to fish. His knowledge of the lake is second to none – he knows it like the back of his hand and genuinely wants every angler to succeed. He’s always happy to offer advice and will do his very best to get you onto the fish.
I’ve caught well on both visits and was fortunate enough to land a stunning 66lb mirror carp on my first trip. During my visits we’ve caught fish at both short and long range, which shows there are plenty of opportunities regardless of your preferred style of fishing.
The lake holds a very good stock of big, hard-fighting carp that seem to respond well to a heavy baiting approach. The fish are in great condition and every bite feels like it could be something special.
Overall, Lac Baronne is a well-run fishery that continues to improve year after year. Combined with Rafal’s dedication and willingness to help, it’s a venue I’d happily recommend and one I’ll definitely be returning to again. 🎣🐟
