First catch report of the year from Étang de Janine
Jack got things started in style with a 61lb common. While opening up the cabin, he put his rods out and within half an hour was locked into a proper battle.
The following two weeks were very quiet, with only three anglers visiting and fishing proving slow. High air pressure and cold nights certainly didn’t help conditions.
Last week saw three anglers on a lake exclusive, including a son on his first French fishing trip under the watchful eye of his dad. It was another slow week overall, but with some cracking rewards for the effort.
The highlight was a huge 72lb grass carp, backed up by three different 57lb fish from the road bank, with a rod tucked tight down the right-hand side. A couple of 40s and some 30s followed to round things off nicely.
we have not seen them spawn as yet, will keep you posted on that one!
