Forest Pool is a stunning 2 acre lake with carp to a huge 60lbs and lakeside accommodation which sleeps 4. The lake is ideal for 2 to 3 anglers. It is situated in the Limousin region of France and is perfect for small groups. If you do not fancy the long drive, collection from Limoges airport and free tackle hire is included in the price.
As of 2022 the average size carp is 33lbs. It is not viewed as a hard lake, an average week you can expect to catch about 30 plus carp.
The lake is surrounded by 42 acres of private forest, containing mature oak, pine and chestnut trees, as well as an abundance of wildlife. Sit back and watch the red kites and buzzards, as you wait for the sound of your buzzer to scream off.
Forest Pool is fed by 3 springs and a pool which ensures excellent water quality and a good turnover of water. The majority of the lake bed is hard, however by the lilly beds there are softer silty areas which are frequently visited by the carp. At the dam end of the lake, depths are around 8 feet with the marginal shelf around the lake being 2 foot.
There are 3 purpose built swims around the lake which have been well thought out, giving each plenty of water to fish to. Two of these swims are on the dam wall and the third is situated at the far margin and has a 25 metre squared decking area.

This tackle is free to use for all of the guests. All you will need to bring is reels, terminal tackle and bite alarms.
A selection of boilies and particles are available to purchased on site. Please enquire for details and arrange bait requirements prior to your trip.
- Return fish to the water as quickly as possible
- Never leave rods unattended
- Sacking fish is prohibited
- Use the cradle and weigh slings when handling carp
- No fixed rigs, fish safe rigs only
- No braided mainline
- No leadcore leaders, rig tubing must be used
- Barbless hooks only
- Treat hookholds or damage to fish with a carp care kit
- Particles are permitted by must be prepared by the lake owner
- Keep swims clean and tidy
- No fires
- BBQs are allowed but only in the designated BBQ area
- Do not swim in the lake
- Do not remove bedding or cooking equipment from the lodge
- No drugs
- Drinking in moderation
