What a fantastic week’s fishing!
Over the course of the week our family landed 24 fish comprising 22 carp, 1 pike and 1 roach, with a combined weight of 554.8lb (over half a ton).
A further 5 fish were unfortunately lost, proving that the fish don’t always stick to the script!
Our 13 years old had an incredible week, landing 17 fish (15 carp, 1 pike and 1 roach) for a total weight of 353.1lb.
His 15 carp weighed 345.6lb, averaging 24.7lb each, and included 8 carp over 30lb and 12 over 20lb. He also smashed his personal best with a magnificent 32.5lb leather carp. Amazingly, over the course of the week he landed fish weighing 4.6 times his own body weight…not bad for someone who still needs reminding to tidy his room!
Dad landed 8 carp weighing 201.7lb, averaging 25.2lb per fish. His catch included 2 carp over 30lb and 6 over 20lb, topped by a stunning 37.2lb mirror carp, setting a new personal best.
Overall, the lake produced 22 carp averaging an impressive 24.9lb, including 10 carp over 30lb.
Species landed were 9 leather carp, 8 common carp and 5 mirror carp—an amazing stamp of healthy fish and a credit to the fishery.
Mum blanked but made up for it being photographer and driver for the week!
A huge thank you to Lee, the fishery owner, for a very memorable week. Fantastic fishing, beautiful surroundings, brilliant company and two new PBs made this a trip we’ll never forget. We can’t wait to return!
