The trip really exceeded our expectations! We finished with 14 landed Carp ranging from 21lb to 43lb and lost probably as many.
Massive thank-you to Andy the lake owner for sharing his knowledge of the lake and spending time to go through the details of swims and good methods, he really made the difference to the quality of the experience, and much love to Max the dog.
To get the best from the venue use of the boats is a good tip to place the bait and feed in the optimum positions, we believe this was key to catching well and getting regular bites.
The lodge is basic but provides what you need, it was never out intention to use it to sleep because we took Bivvis but a hot shower and cooking facilities were welcome.
In summary this was what we wanted, fishing not just catching, thinking our way into the swims we fished tweaking tactics and dealing with big fish trying to snag us and escape.
Andy has really done a great job in creating accessible good size pegs which are well maintained, pathways are also clear and well thought out.
