Oak Tree Lakes is an intimate three-and-a-half-acre carp lake located in the beautiful Mayenne region of North West France, offering up to 3 anglers an exclusive and rewarding drive-and-survive fishing experience in peaceful countryside surroundings.
The lake holds an impressive stock of around 130 carp, including multiple fish over 40lb and carp topping the magical 50lb mark, alongside a healthy head of upper doubles and twenties to keep the action coming throughout the trip. With a mixture of commons and mirrors, Oak Tree Lakes offers anglers the chance of landing both quantity and genuine quality in a relaxed and private setting.
Optional onsite gîte accommodation is also available to book separately for an additional cost of £500. The gite is just a 3 minute walk from the lake, making the venue ideal not only for anglers wanting extra comfort during their trip, but also for those travelling with partners, families or non-angling guests.
With exclusive lake bookings available throughout the season, guests can enjoy complete privacy while fishing in a natural setting away from the pressures of busy commercial venues. Whether you are looking for a traditional drive-and-survive session or a more comfortable stay with accommodation included, Oak Tree Lakes offers a flexible and enjoyable French carp fishing holiday with the chance of landing some stunning fish along the way.
Oak Tree Lakes offers a selection of onsite bait for anglers during their stay. Please note that particle must be purchased directly from the fishery if used.
Boilie options available include:
- Squid & Octopus
- Salmon & Plum
- Krill & Garlic
- Cranberry & Caviar
Boilies are supplied in 5kg packs and priced at £55 per bag.
Additional bait options include:
- Hemp – £7 per kilo (minimum 5kg order)
- Feed pellets – £3.50 per kilo or £65 per sack
A food package is available during your stay, with meals delivered directly to your swim or placed in the gîte if accommodation has been booked.
Breakfast options include filled breakfast baguettes with bacon or sausage and a choice of sauces, while continental breakfasts are also available on request. Departure day breakfasts can also be arranged depending on departure times.
Evening meals are homemade and typically served around 6pm. Example menu options may include:
- Burgers & chips
- Roast chicken dinner
- Lasagne with garlic bread
- Cottage pie
- Spaghetti bolognese
- Sausage and mash
- Chicken curry
Menu options may vary depending on availability, and any allergies must be communicated on arrival.
Oak Tree Lakes is a venue built around respecting both the fish and the natural surroundings. Fish welfare is taken extremely seriously and all anglers are expected to fish responsibly at all times.
Fishery Rules
- Maximum of three rods per angler
- No rods to be left unattended
- Maximum one hook per rig
- Barbless or micro barb hooks only
- Minimum 12lb main line
- Fresh or freezer boilies only
- Particle must be purchased directly from the fishery
- Carp care treatment must be used where required
- No sacking fish overnight
- Fish may only be retained for a maximum of 15 minutes whilst preparing scales and cameras
- Fish must be kept wet at all times
- Landing nets, slings and cradles are supplied and must be used
- Fish must be returned safely and quickly
- No standing with fish for photographs
- Please report any damaged fish immediately
- No litter, discarded line or cigarette ends to be left anywhere on site
- Bait boats are permitted
- Boats may be used but life jackets must be worn at all times
- No cutting or damaging bankside vegetation
- No excessive noise, unsafe behaviour or disruptive conduct
The management reserves the right to ask guests to leave without refund if behaviour is considered unsafe, aggressive or excessively disruptive.
Gîte Rules
To help maintain the accommodation for all guests, we kindly ask that the following house rules are respected during your stay:
- Please treat the gîte, furniture and equipment with care
- Any damage or breakages must be reported as soon as possible
- Only guests included within the booking may stay overnight
- Day visitors are welcome, however large gatherings or parties are not permitted
- Please respect neighbouring properties and keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 8am
- Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the gîte
- No pets allowed
- Candles are not permitted inside the accommodation
- Barbecues must be used responsibly and never left unattended
- Please leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition upon departure
- Waste and recycling should be disposed of correctly
- Any lost keys may incur a replacement charge
