Following a remarkable three-day fishing session at Étang des Salles, also known as Cottage Lake, we are thrilled to report excellent results. Nearly 40 fish were caught, with many surpassing 22 pounds. The largest weighed in at 41 pounds, with an impressive average of 26 pounds. The variety included mirror carp, common carp, fully scaled, , linear carp, and even koi carp.
With active crayfish, the team adapted by regularly baiting and using solid baits, including tiger nuts. Most fish were caught near the dam and in open water. Additionally, the anglers greatly appreciated the Safari tent’s amenities—well-ventilated despite the heat, with provided linens, a kitchen, dishware, lighting, and access to refrigerators and freezers.
