The Experience
My wife and I recently spent a week at the beautiful Watersmeet Fishery in Mayenne, and it was the perfect escape. The venue is incredibly well-maintained—clean, tidy, and exceptionally calm.
We enjoyed a fantastic blend of activities: exploring the local Mayenne countryside during the day and settling into the fishing sessions in the evenings and throughout the night. Staying in the on-site cottage made the trip effortless, allowing us to balance the comforts of a holiday with the thrill of being right on the water’s edge.

The fishing was consistent and rewarding across my six sessions. I managed to land 5 fish in total, consisting of a mix of Koi and common carp.

Final Verdict
Watersmeet offers everything you could want for a peaceful carp holiday. The 2.5-acre lake is an awesome venue to spend time on, and the combination of high-quality fishing and a comfortable base made for a truly memorable week.
We had such a great time that we are already looking forward to a return trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-kept, quiet, and productive venue in France.
